The most precise, biblically exegetical & unadulterated Eschatology, is Fulfilled Eschatology. Fulfilled Eschatology, also known as Full Preterism, is the only Eschatology that can be taught from Scripture, without changing a word. This is the biggest threat there is to Futurist Eschatology.
All forms (known to me) of Futurist Eschatology: Pre-Millennialism, A-Millennialism, Post-Millennialism, Pre-Trib Rapture, Mid-Trib Rapture, Post-Trib Rapture, No Rapture, Pre-Wrath, Post-Wrath, Dispensationalism, Zionism, Historicism, Partial Preterism & Mid-Acts; all require a massive re-working of biblical texts and their meanings.
Why is it that all forms of Futurist Eschatology must change & redefine words such as soon, shortly, near, nigh, now, at hand, the last time, will not tarry, this generation? Why is it that these phrases must be spun
into definitions never intended?
Why does Scripture state: “We are seated in Heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6)
We have been translated into the kingdom of his dear Son (Colossians 1:13)
Death has been abolished (2nd Timothy 1:10) We have come unto Mt. Zion [New Jerusalem] (Hebrews 12:22) The flesh profits nothing (John 6:63) We have been quickened (Colossians 2:13) We are new creatures (2nd Corinthians 5:17) The kingdom comes not with observation (Luke 17:21) & Salvation was completed at the Cross (Hebrews 10:14)” but the “Church” teaches that these are only provisional, positional or metaphorical references?
Where does surrounding context of these given verses, provide any indication, they were not modern day realities, almost 2,000 years ago?
Matthew 24 finds Christ saying Ye, You & Your, 23 times to his Apostles in a private teaching, but for some reason, Churchianity doesn’t want you to believe Christ meant any of these messages, promises, prophecies or warnings for them (The Apostles) Why? In (Matthew 16:27-28) “For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works, Verily I say unto you, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the
Son of man coming in his kingdom”
Christ tells his contemporaries, (those standing there then) that not all would see death, before his “coming” however the bulk of Churchianity has nearly nullified this message, by relegating it only to the Transfiguration. Where were all of God’s Angels shown as being present during the transfiguration? How exactly did Christ reward every man according to his works at the Transfiguration? Why did no biblical writer list either of these events being associated in the Transfiguration account, if it was about the Transfiguration?
Why did Paul (Ephesians 5:14) “wherefore he says, awake thou that sleeps, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light” tell living Ephesians to arise from the dead if resurrection applies to physically dead bodies? Most will shuffle this off as well by stating it only applies as provisional, positional or metaphorical, as referenced earlier.
Peter stated (Acts 2:17) that the events people witnessed at Pentecost, were prophesied by (Joel 2:28) to take place in The Last Days. The writer of (Hebrews 1:2) stated those he wrote to were living in The Last Days. The believed brother of Christ (James 5:3) accused people in the 1st century of “heaping together treasures of silver & gold” in The Last Days. Why would these men; called by God & instructed by Christ, tell people they were living in The Last Days,
if they were not?
The reason these men believed and taught that they were living in The Last Days, is because they knew through The Prophets, and recognized the language and person of The Messiah, who told them that they were. The Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24-25) & the preceding messages taught by Christ in the Temple in Jerusalem (Matthew 21:23-Matthew 23:39) specified both directly, and indirectly through the given signs, woes, proclamations, prophecies & warnings, that it was in fact, Their Generation (Matthew 23:36 & Matthew 24:34) that was & would witness all prophecies related to Daniel’s Time of The End (Daniel 8:17, 11:35, 40, 12:4, 9)
The Fundamental Tenants of Christ Taught Eschatology, as is the case in & with much of Christianity, have been hijacked and sold to mankind, as nothing more than delayed promises, that really do exist today but only in provisional, positional or metaphorical status, but will be realized in the natural world/realm, some day.
These are they which look to the seen and not the unseen, for fulfillment of spiritual prophecies, promises & blessings, even though Scripture instructs otherwise (2nd Corinthians 4:18) These are they who walk by sight and not by faith, which is also counter-productive, or even, anti-scriptural (2nd Corinthians 5:7) These are they who believe the kingdom is meat and drink, and is not righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost even though Paul says otherwise (Romans 14:17) and finally: These are they which say “My Lord delays his coming” (Matthew 24:48) and “where is the promise of his coming, for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation” (2nd Peter 3:4).
Rather than attempting to refute/disprove the idea that all of these things have transpired, through exegetical search of the scriptures themselves, Churchianity is content to carry on as they always have, placing their total assurance on history, traditions, the writings of Church Fathers, and the beloved CREEDS, which all say none of this has happened yet, and that all spiritual promises, blessings & prophecies, will be realized one day, here on earth, in the natural realm.
How can “The Church” of Christianity, that claims to accept, believe and follow the man & messages, of The Messiah, Christ himself; continue to teach delayed fulfillment of eternal / everlasting; promises, prophecies & blessings, by insisting they must occur and be seen, visible, tangible & touchable, by natural/earthly man, when every scripture listed says these were all truths & modern day realities, nearly 2,000 years ago? I believe the most fundamental question should be, why?
Neither Catholic nor Protestant Christians have ever convened an Eschatological Ecumenical or otherwise Council to address this matter. Rather than continuing to re-examine the reasons why, I believe the time has come for this to happen.
In order to properly understand Christ Taught Eschatology,
one needn’t step outside the words of Christ that are contained within
the 4 Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John, however; this is
not about refuting Church History, Traditions, The Church Fathers
or even The Beloved Creeds, but the time has long come where a national
or even international effort must be sought to reconcile the
Eschatological & Salvational message conflicts between
what Scripture states (without alteration) and
the overwhelming majority of what Christendom teaches.
